Wicked cool! As soon as I was done reading, I had an idea for applying this technique! I think it might even include a tunnel very much like yours that I've been going thru since I was a kid. You're making me think of it in an entirely new way! I've used my flashlight to fill unlit areas of a subject, but never really thought about how to use it to create a subject. Thank you for the in-depth explanation! Can't wait to try it!

Glad to inspire. We definitely like the simplicity and ease of using a flashlight. Keeping in mind we don’t use a normal flashlight, its application is more complex. Any flashlight will definitely improve even small product photography. Share your results if you feel comfortable.

This is so cool. It brought to mind an old kids' TV show I watched when I was wee called Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings, but you're drawing with light and the pictures come true. And you're a lightweaver, like in the Stormlight Archive. But overall, you're an artist and I love what you make!

Ahh!!! “Well allo my name is Simon!” Core memory unlocked!! I watched this all the time as a kid! And LIGHTWEAVER. Now that’s a rad title! Thanks so much, Cams… it’s fabulous having you here in our dark corner!

Ha! I thought Simon was a purely UK thing and little known at that. I'm glad to have brought it back for you. RIP Bernard Cribbens.

Lightweavers are one of the orders of Radiants in Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series of fantasy books. But as far as I can tell the title fits far better with what you do!

RIP indeed... I would watch that one and Paddington Bear too. Such good memories!

A lightweaver! I wrote, and rewrote this reply 4 times because I couldn't get the words out that just say how much I feel like that resonates with obviously your photography but also this incredibly big, amazing lift of adding us into the stories behind your creations, Katie & Chris. Thanks for that word Cams!

I just can't stop staring at the light reflecting from the bottom of the door. You instantly gave me 100 stories ebbing and flowing all at once. And watching and thinking about you running around the Quincy tunnel for 2 nights a.) truly dedicated artists, b.) I wish I would have dropped you off hot cocoa or something.
